Ben Sher

Ben Sher, straight from NYC, is a very accomplished musician, who has three releases on BGI Records with his Brazilian Jazz group TudoBern. Additionally, he has toured the world performing at the Montreux, Berlin, North Sea, and Marsala Jazz Festivals with artists including Ute Lemper and “Ball-in-the-Jack”. Ben appears on many recordings as a sideman for various jazz and pop artists. Ben is very involved with music education, currently teaching at the Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory two days a week.

Here at the Biryukov Academy, Ben has created an entire contemporary music program including classes in guitar, piano, bass, drums and special classes in keyboard harmony. Ben believes studying keyboard harmony is a must for all instrumentalists and vocalists. Ben also teaches “Lab Jazz Band” workshops for the Jazz enthusiast, instructions on Brazilian rhythms and the blues and “Rock Band” workshops to give kids and adults an opportunity to know what it is like to play in your own rock band.
